Competition Vietnam Kite Surf Camp ’09 has come to an end. Unfortunately, it didn’t blew strongly enough for Hang Time and Freestyle rides. However, there was good one-and-a-half-meter-wave. That allowed make surfing sessions. Now shortly about Vietnam Kite Surf Camp ’09 opening and laps… Huge delegation of bureaucracy came to the station. Presents were given and of course a lot of congratulations. Everything going on reminded of Brezhnev time. “Good afternoon comrade!” and everything in this style :) On 2nd of January people started to arrive back to the station and there was nothing left from Brezhnev time! At 9p.m. bureaucracy opening party has started. Invited band Black Infinity didn’t let anybody stand on one place. Performance was awesome like the last time in life! Sessions were planned for the next day. 28 riders registered for the competition: 15 surfers and 13 kitesurfers. On 3rd of January there were perfect waves, so surfing sessions started. This discipline was fully realized. We may assert that it was first Russian surfing competition and we organized it! There were four-rider sessions and each session lasted 20 minutes. During all sessions riders were fighting hard for leadership. Some riders even caught 7-10 waves during the session and surfed on wave for 20 seconds. As a result two Vietnamese, one Australian and our rider Kostya Roginsky (Ukraine) competed in semi-final. Till the end everybody thought that price will win James from Australia. He looked cool on his surf fish 5”7 and made arial 360 on a small wave. Nobody had seen such level before! But James was unlucky (lots of falls) and Kostya’s session looked better. It resulted in following: 1st place-Kostya Roginsky (Ukraine)

2nd place-Noa (Vietnam)
3rd place- James (Australia)

As it often happens, kitesurfing competition was canceled. All sessions in this discipline will be postponed. On 7th of January was Vietnam Kite Surf Camp ’09 closing: winners awarding, party with live music (Curtis King). We celebrated till dawn again, depleted both bars and tore two harmonics :))
