Vung Tau was very famous town during the “French time” as Cap Saint Jacque or Au Cap in French. Vung Tau is a resort town located 128 km from Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon). There are many modern hotels on its three main beaches. Even through Vung Tau is popular with sightseeing like status of Jesus overlooking the southern point of the peninsula, Bach Dinh (Villa Blanche), Niet Ban Tinh Xa (Themple of Nirvana) and lighthouse which was built in 1910. There are plenty of nightclubs and seafood restaurants in Vung Tau.
Southeast cost of Vietnam is the perfect place for kiteboarding, windsurfing and surfing during whole season, which is from October till May. Inestimable advantage of local climate is stability of the wind direction. In wintertime, wind is strong and regular, there is draught every day. Wind at 45 degrees to the shore supplied with perfect condition and safety riding, because in any cases the stream and wind will bring you ashore.
In Vung Tau the beaches are sandy without rocks, reefs and other hazards. Riders of different levels can join these spots. If you are beginner, you will have good opportunity to polish up your level. Strong beach break is typical for the South-China Sea and it is usually come in the afternoon together with much stronger wind. All these build up just right conditions for teaching kiteboarding, surfing or windsurfing. Moreover, the temperature of the water is always higher then +27C degrees.
